Local Missions Deacon

TVC Responsibilities:
I help to mobilize TVC members to serve in our community, execute the vision the Lord has given to our church leadership for local missions, and build relationships within the local nonprofit community to help meet the needs of our neighbors.

When and how did the Lord save you?
I was saved at 7 years old in the front yard of a friend’s house; that simple moment changed the trajectory of my existence. It has been such a wild ride, and the more I learn to trust Him, the wilder (more fun) it becomes.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
We moved here in 2019 from Dallas because we wanted chickens and possibly horses—both in short supply in Dallas proper. We were told by our friends that TVC was the most theologically similar to our previous church, and it is close to our home. At TVC we found the most fascinating (in a good way) people who love Jesus and who spur us on to love Him more.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
Courage—I had so little of it for so long and when I finally pushed my chips to the middle, I started living, really and truly living.

If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
I have it. I co-own a coffee shop with a dear friend, and I’m a mom who gets to hide away and write something on occasion.

Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
Samuel from East of Eden by John Steinbeck. He is the wisest of all invented people.
